In the past, there were great plant hunters, that would search the world for new and undiscovered plants for plant lovers to have in their garden. The earliest record is from 1495BC when great botanists from China were sent to Somalia to find incense trees for Queen Hatshetput.
Nowadays, people still do try and find rare and wonderful plants - luckily for us all, it can also be as easy as heading down to your local park, or plant gardens.
